Welcome to the new Fall Out Boy! FOBrary 4, 2013

Last night, (Philippine time) Andy started the announcement by posting a link on his twitter. It was followed by Joe, then Patrick then Pete. The second I saw the link, I got goosebumps and just knew it was something I'd be happy about. After a very timely disconnection from the internet because my dorm's internet sucks, I clicked the link and I freaked out. That was it. Fall Out Boy's back. BELIEVERS NEVER DIE. And just like that, my whole Twitter feed was exploding from all the feels. Literally every tweet I saw was IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE FALL OUT BOY IS BACK EVERYBODY.

"Taken February 4, 2013 in Chicago, IL"

“When we were kids, the only thing that got us through most days was music. It’s why we started Fall Out Boy in the first place. This isn’t a reunion because we never broke up. We needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us.”

I spazzed when I saw the caption of the photo. The only thing running in my mind was "OH MY GOD. THEY'RE TOGETHER. RIGHT NOW. LIKE, AS A BAND FOR OFFICIAL FOB BUSINESS." Also, I found it so cool that they also booked a show for that night and the following nights. It's so spontaneous, hindi nila binitin ung fans nila (sorry for the lack of proper terminology).

And as if announcing being off hiatus, announcing a new tour and album, and releasing a new music video/song isn't enough, Andy Hurley replied to me. I was in the verge of tears. I feel bad for accusing them for "leaving us in the dark". They have personal issues that they have to deal with in order to keep up with the band. I am so glad they found new inspiration to write again. Unlike other artists, they sacrificed valuable amount of time to find themselves again as a band. The music actually mattered to them and they didn't just make another album for the sake of making one, and this is what sets them apart from a lot of musicians in the mainstream music industry. They didn't sell out. They stayed true to themselves and their music just keeps getting better and better. They didn't take a hiatus because they didn't care for their fans... it's quite the opposite actually. They wanted to deliver something their fans would love, it just took some time. There are so many things running through my head right now, I'm just babbling because this is my only outlet for everything that happened (not that anyone would read through all this).

It's amazing how they were able to keep everything under the radar! From the recording and the booking of tours, to the shooting of the video. It's amazing! They'll never fail to amaze me. I know this may seem shallow to a lot of people but honestly, I've never been this happy in a while and my emotions are just overflowing.
I've been listening to Fall Out Boy for almost 8 years now and I don't think I'll ever get tired of them and their music.

Setlist from their first show in 4 years at their hometown, Chicago. It sucks that I wasn't there.

P.S. My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark has been on loop since I woke up. The lyrics. The melody. The beat. Perfect.
